Letter Of Gratitude
To Whom It may concern:
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Jewels of the Horse Rescue and the Volunteers for all the support, love and the special attention they offer all the horses they receive in the Rescue. Their generosity, love and thoughtfulness have truly made a difference in my life and I am deeply appreciative. Thank you To Jewels of the horse rescue I was reunited with my horse again after he was brutally abused by a Horrific human with no feeling that hurt him and gave him to the rescue. If it wasn't for all the volunteers that gave my horse Angel all the love and care, right now I would have my sweet boy home with me and safe. The Love, kindness and compassion that all the Volunteers give to the horses that come injured and in lots of pain is priceless. The Willingness, generosity of the volunteers have helped me during this time and means a lot to me. I will be forever thankful to Jewels of the desert horse rescue.
Please know that I will always remember the kindness and generosity, I hope one day I would have the opportunity to help them for what they did for Angel and make difference d in someone else life, just as they did for me.
Once again thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything they done for me. Their Kindness and love have truly touched my life in a meaning full way.
Sincerely
Veronica R.
FUN FACT : Did you know the Rescue name was made from the first horse we took in ? Before becoming a Non -Profit we were looking for a second horse to take in but one that just needed help to be a friend to another horse she was all skin and bones ,body score 1 . We named her Jewel , our mission lives through her with each and every horse we help , this is all her work!!! JEWEL made this happen and she was of the kindest soul . We miss and love you sweet girl !!

FEBRUARY 2026 NEWSLETTER
INTRODUCTION
A warm welcome to our wonderful followers, donors and supporters! We are introducing
our first monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on all the happenings here at JotD.
There have been quite a few changes to our herd recently that we’d like to tell you
about. We promise not to overload your inbox, so we vow to only send one newsletter
per month. If you would like to get up to the minute updates, please follow our FB page
as well.
SUCCESS STORIES
Here are our success stories since January 2026.
Jasper is a gentle, senior gelding that was rescued from a kill pen in Texas. He was
days away from being shipped to Mexico to be killed for meat consumption. He is blind
in one eye and has limited vision in the other and was extremely underweight when he
arrived at the rescue. A wonderful adopter came forward, who had also adopted from us
previously, and opened up her heart and home to Jasper. He is now a companion to
another senior gelding and will spend his days in a safe and loving home.
Slim Jim is a Thoroughbred whose previous owner was experiencing financial hardship.
Slim Jim spent some time with our awesome trainer who did an excellent job preparing
him for a new home. We are happy to say that he has found his Forever Home.
Meadow is a 12-13 year old Standardbred. She was rescued along with Jasper from a
kill pen in Texas and was days away from being shipped to a slaughterhouse in Mexico.
When she arrived, she was underweight but otherwise healthy. Meadow is currently
undergoing training with our trainer and has a Forever Home waiting for her when her
training is completed.
NEW RESCUES
We have recently welcomed three horses into the rescue. Please look at our Adoptable
Horses page to learn more about Shonto, Lace and Haley. Can’t adopt but want to
help? We are always looking for sponsors for each of the horses in our care. When you
sponsor a horse, your donation helps with food, veterinary care, and farrier expenses.
We are a 100% volunteer-run organization. All donations go directly to caring for these
special horses needing another chance at finding their Forever Home.
