My name is Pumpkin. I am in my late teens to early20's . My teeth appear that at some point in my life I liked to crib but these kind ladies here in the rescue have not seen me do it yet. Along my life's journey I ended up in a killPen scared and alone, A wonderful lady stepped up to help me get out safely in which I became in the hands of Jewels Of The Desert where they will help get me back to health and show me love once again . This Beautiful senior is 25 years old , Very gentle and kind .We were told she was an X cutting horse and then made her way to be a lesson horse for kids . Lady was brought in from owner surrender as life had become to overwhelming for them . She is a companion only Mare . Lady gets along great with other horses . She does appear to have DSLD on her back right , her knees are very arthritic and has been started on previcox ,she also has sway back. Right now she is housed with our untouched colt to teach him and she is so sweet to him.
Brownie
Brownie is a 23 year old gelding that has arthritis on his front knees .He takes 1 tab daily of Previcox . He don't have many teeth left so he gets his mush 2x a day along with his Alfalfa and Bermuda flakes, his tongue is often hanging out to the side because of this . This boy is super kind and sweet he would make a great companion horse , therapy horse or just a nice calm horse for a young kid to love on . He was relinquished due to owner possibly having to move out of state.
Anna
Anna ,14 year old Thoroughbred mare Was a PCSD neglect case that was brought into rescue . This girl is tall and beautiful . She has been through enough is her past and needs a soft loving landing . Pin fire marks along her front legs tells us she has been raced , she does have a lip tattoo . Anna is not sound and would be a good companion horse .

This beautiful girl is a estimated 15 year old Mustang .Her owner had cancer and had to find placement for his horses , we were happy to step in and help be her safety net!
Athena
Athena is estimated 12-13 years old . She appears to look like a quarter horse but we are listing as Grade . she is about 14.3hh . We don't know her history she was a pull from the Texas KillPen . She has been ridden but not here with us yet as she is settling in and a bit underweight . very sweet little lady .
Penelope & Star
(Bonded Pair)
Penelope (Belgian Draft)And Star(Standardbred) have had a rough Journey but had one another alongthe way ! These girls are a bail from FountianHills Killpen in Arkansas . Star really is connected to Penelope but both these gals are very sweet girls so bringing star out to hangout with us while we need to get something done for Penelope isn't really a issue . Penelope has foundered in her front right foot and wears a corrective shoe she is front shod and told to be 16 years old , she had a tooth root abcess so one of her molars had to be pulled and one more is questionable . Star would need to be as a companion her body conformation is very used and abused she is a 18 year old Standardbred.
Bonnie
Bonnie is a 17year old beautiful Amish used Draft Mare . Bonnie was pulled from the Texas KillPen . She has a wound on her back left hoof at the band that the vet suspects was a old intense injury that has been healing . She walks around sound but she is currently getting cleaned and wrapped ever other day until fully healed , Lucky for us she is just so sweet and gentle she makes it easy for us to do ! Bonnie was being ridden in her killpen video but not here with us she has just been healing .

14 year old Gelding . Leo was relinquished because he has a slight case of laminitis . Our vet believes that with corrective shoes he will make a nice light riding horse in time .
Rango
Rango is estimated as 8-10years old . We believe he is an Appendix but we are listing him as a grade gelding .This boy came to us as one of our extreme cases , he was very thin and shut down but now he has gained great weight and is just the sweetest most in your pocket kind of guy . We are unsure of his history as he was also a pull from the Texas KillPen . We have not saddled him up here as he still is slightly off for the weight we need him to be at to do so .
